World Junior Golf Series Commissions Custom Bennett Award
The World Junior Golf Series (WJGS), an international golf tour designed to showcase the best junior golfers in the world, commissioned a custom perpetual trophy from Bennett Awards for their World Ranking Trophy. This custom trophy will feature the names of the world’s top ranked junior golfers at the time of each of the WJGS tournaments. For this trophy, Bennett Awards created a custom sculpture in the shape of the WJGS logo. This pewter sculpture was mounted on a fabricated aluminum base that will hold the names of the world’s top-ranked junior golfers.
Bells Labs Commissions Custom Bennett Award
Bell Labs, the world-renowned industrial arm of Alcatel-Lucent, and the world’s pre-eminent research organization in the field of communication networking, commissioned Bennett Awards to create a new custom award design for its inaugural Bell Labs Prize. The centerpiece of the award is a handcrafted sculpture featuring two figures – one male and one female – holding a globe. The sculpture also incorporates sculpted elements meaningful to Bell Labs and the Bell Labs Prize, including representations of the first transistor, fiber optics, the UNIX operating system, the Horn antennae, the Shannon algorithm, and Telstar.
Bennett Awards Creates “Golden Noodle” Award for Inaugural Mac & Cheese Fest
Bennett Awards created a new custom award design called the “Golden Noodle” award for the inaugural Mac & Cheese Fest, which honored the best dish based on this iconic food favorite. Over 50 restaurants competed in the competition, held in Chicago, Illinois. The award featured a custom sculpture in the shape of a macaroni noodle mounted on a black marble base.
The Everly Brothers Receive Bennett Awards from Rock Hall of Fame
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame presented The Everly Brothers with Bennett recognition awards as part of their American Music Masters Series. These awards honor groundbreaking musicians who have helped shaped the evolution of popular music, and whose contributions and stories merit broader recognition. The Rock Hall of Fame used the Bennett Awards design “Harmonize” for these awards, which feature a sculpture in the shape of a stylized music note.
Garner, Fey, Bening, Lange Among Custom Bennett Awards Recipients
For the eighth consecutive year, a group of Hollywood stars who have made a profound impact on the film industry received custom recognition awards designed by Bennett Awards as recipients of the 2014 Elle Women in Hollywood Awards. The Elle Women in Hollywood Awards recognize women for their outstanding achievements in film, spanning all aspects of the motion picture industry, including acting, directing, and producing. The 2014 recipients of these distinguished achievement awards included Jennifer Garner, Tina Fey, Jessica Lange, Elizabeth Banks, Annette Bening, Zoe Saldana, Brie Larson, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts Selects Bennett Awards
The National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts (NHFA) commissioned a new custom award design from Bennett Awards for some recognition awards they recently presented. The first award was the Raul Julia Award for Excellence, which is given annually to a person or persons who are making a critical difference for Latino artists. The 2014 Raul Julia Award was presented to Latin Rock superstar and dedicated philanthropist Juanes. The second award was the Horizon Award, which honors individuals who have not only emerged but continue to make a positive impact in all that they do, both personally and professionally. The 2014 recipients of this award were actress Emily Rios (The Bridge), and actor Jesse Garcia (From Dusk Till Dawn).
World’s Top Jr. Golf Event Presents Custom Trophy from Bennett Awards
For the third straight year, the world’s top-ranked junior golf tournament presented a family of custom recognition awards created by Bennett Awards for its championship trophies. The Junior Invitational at Sage Valley, ranked by Golfweek as the top junior golf tournament in the world, used three unique custom recognition awards created by Bennett Awards for their 2014 event: 1) a 36” perpetual trophy called the Gibbs Trophy that features an engraved plaque identifying that year’s champion; 2) a smaller 18” version of the trophy that is presented to the champion to keep; and 3) custom medallions that are given to the tournament runners up.
WomenHeart Presents Bennett Recognition Awards
WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Women with Heart Disease, presented a set of Bennett recognition awards to the 2014 recipients of their 14th annual Wenger Awards. The Wenger Awards are presented each year in recognition of those who have set a precedent in the prevention, treatment and care of heart disease in women. For these awards, WomenHeart selected the Bennett Award design “Hearts of Fire”. These sculpture awards featured a brushed pewter finish, and were mounted on bases with personalized engraving of the WomenHeart logo, award name, award recipient, and date of presentation.
Bennett Creates Custom Award Based on First Working Steam Engine
Bennett Awards created a new, unique custom award based on a sculpture of an aeolipile, which was the first working steam engine, the invention of which is generally thought to be around the 1st century AD. This custom award was commissioned by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspections for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the ASME Boiler and Vessel Pressure Code. The main sculpture component of the award was fabricated out aluminum, and then high-polished and silver-plated.
Skateboarding Hall of Fame Presents Bennett Custom Awards to Inductees
For the 5th consecutive year, the Skateboarding Hall of Fame honored its annual class of inductees with custom trophies created by Bennett Awards. Bennett Awards created this custom award design in 2010. The unique design is based on a sculptural three-dimensional representation of the Skateboarding Hall of Fame logo.
