Tom Brokaw Receives Bennett Lifetime Achievement Award

Tom Brokaw, the world renowned broadcast journalist and author, received a Bennett Award on May 12, 2008, from the City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate School of Journalism. The Bennett Award "Honor" was presented to Brokaw as a special Lifetime Achievement Award, honoring his long list of accomplishments in journalism. Brokaw, currently an NBC News Special Correspondent, anchored the NBC Nightly News – America’s most watched news program - for over 21 years. In addition, he was the author of several best-selling books, including “The Greatest Generation.” This unique award “Honor”, designed by award artist Bob Bennett, was presented to Brokaw at CUNY’s first annual Excellence in Journalism awards gala. The event, which was held in New York City, was hosted by T.V. journalist Connie Chung and sponsored by Bloomberg, NBC News, The New York Observer, The New York Times Company, and Time Magazine.
