Jerry Lee Lewis Receives Bennett Award from Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, together with Case Western Reserve University, presented a Bennett Award to legendary rock and roller Jerry Lee Lewis. The presentation was made to Lewis as part of his tribute in the 12th Annual American Music Masters series. The Bennett Award "Harmonize", which depicts a stylized musical note, was presented to Lewis by Rock Hall CEO Terry Stewart and event emcee Kris Kristofferson on November 10, 2007, as part of a tribute concert at Cleveland’s State Theatre. After receiving this sculpture award, Lewis articulated his thanks by sitting down at the piano and playing and singing “Over the Rainbow” to the delight of the crowd.
