Five Legends Awarded with Custom Bennett Awards from The MAX Hall of Fame
The Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience (The MAX) recognized its 2019 Hall of Fame inductees with unique custom awards from Bennett Awards. The MAX is an experiential museum that showcases Mississippi’s contributions to the arts, including music, visual arts, performing arts, and literature.
The 2019 inductees were:
Tammy Wynette, country music artist
Bo Diddly, singer/songwriter
Jerry Lee Lewis, singer/songwriter
Margaret Walker (Alexander), poet and writer
John Lee Hooker, blues musician
Each of these hall of fame inductees was honored with a unique custom award created by Bennett Awards. This is the third straight year inductees to The MAX Hall of Fame have been recognized with these awards.
In 2018, for The MAX’s inaugural class of Hall of Fame inductees, Bennett Awards worked with The MAX to design a new custom award design. The unique award design, a vertical free-standing sculpture with sharp geometric cuts, was inspired by The MAX’s logo. These awards are fabricated from aluminum. An extrusion process is used to produce a vertical geometric obelisk in the shape of The MAX logo. These aluminum awards are bead-blasted and anodized black. The body of the sculpture awards is laser engraved with The MAX logotype, award name, and recipient name. These unique custom awards stand 12” tall.
This is the third year these recognition awards have been used to honor the The MAX’s Hall of Fame inductees. Previous recipients included Oprah Winfrey, Elvis Presley, Morgan Freeman, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Buffet, William Faulkner, Charlie Pride, John Grisham, and Tennessee Williams, among many other deserving recipients.
