Custom Awards Created for World Polo League
Bennett Awards created a family of custom awards for the World Polo League, a new North American polo league that features the top players and most athletic horses in the world. Three different custom award designs were created, one for each of three separate tournaments. Each sculpture design was unique and tailored to that specific tournament.
The first set of custom awards were produced for the World Polo League All Star Challenge Draw Tournament. This first World Polo League tournament was held February 5-17 at the Grand Champions Polo Club in Palm Beach, Florida. The tournament featured eight teams consisting of all-star players from around the world. The tournament drew record crowds and was livestreamed globally. One unique aspect of the tournament was that team owners drew the names of their all-star players at a tournament kickoff draw party. The winning team was Valiente, who defeated Colorado 10-9 in overtime for the championship.
Bennett Awards worked with the World Polo League to create a classic custom award design for this first tournament. The centerpiece of the design is a hand-sculpted polo horse sculpture. This realistic sculpture award includes intricate details associated with the sport, including stirrups, saddle, reigns, etc. The horse sculpture is also holing a polo helmet in its mouth.
Custom awards based on this design were created in three sizes: a perpetual award featuring an 18” horse sculpture, and medium and small sizes for the teams and participants. These unique sculpture awards were cast in bronze and featured an antique patina finish.
