U.S. Soccer Commissions Custom Bennett Awards for Nike International Friendlies

For the 10th straight year, U.S. Soccer commissioned custom trophies created by Bennett Awards for its Nike International Friendlies soccer tournament. This tournament matches youth National Teams from around the world in a friendly competition. The 2019 tournament featured two teams from the U.S. (U-16 and U-17s), the Netherlands, and Turkey.

The U.S. U-16 team won the round robin competition with a 2-0-1 record and sevent points. The Netherlands came in second, the U.S. U-17s in third, and Turkey fourth. The tournament was held November 14-18, 2019 at the Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

The tournament champion received a custom trophy created by Bennett Awards. The form factor of the trophy was a custom cup that stands approximately 23” high. The cup features stylized strpies of different widths that are hand sculpted into the cup surface. The cup is cast in bronze. Different colored patinas – gold and silver nitrate - are used to accentuate the different striped surfaces of the cup. The cup is mounted on a two-tier handcrafted maple base with personalized engraving.
