International Tennis Hall of Fame Commissions Bennett Custom Awards

The International Tennis Hall of Fame (ITHOF) commissioned Bennett Awards to create new custom awards for use in a variety of its sponsored events and tournaments.

The International Tennis Hall of Fame, located in in Newport, Rhode Island, preserves and promotes the history of tennis and celebrates its champions, thereby serving as a vital partner in the growth of tennis globally. It honors players and contributors to the sport of tennis and includes a museum, grass tennis courts, an indoor tennis facility, and a court tennis (or real tennis) facility.

Bennett Awards worked collaboratively with the ITHOF to create a new custom award design for its use in a variety of events and tournaments. The award design was inspired by the ITHOF’s logo, and featured a sculpture in the shape of a tennis racquet with global references, similar to the one appearing in the ITHOF logo. The custom sculpture awards based on this design are cast in pewter and feature a brushed pewter finish.

These awards were first used for the ITHOF’s Dell Technologies Hall of Fame Open, the first stop of the summer swing for pro tennis in the United States. Since 1976, The Hall of Fame Open is held every year in the week directly after Wimbledon. The tournament is held at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island, the original location of the U.S. National Championships. The tournament is played on outdoor grass courts, and is the last grass court tournament of the season on the ATP tour and the only grass court tournament played outside of Europe.
