Recognition Awards Created for United Nations 2010 MDG Awards
Unique awards created by Bennett Awards were used by the United Nations as the recognition awards for the 2nd annual MDG Recognition Awards Ceremony. The annual MDG Recognition Awards were created to support and raise awareness of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). This recognition awards ceremony provides a high profile platform to honor and celebrate exemplary efforts by select national governments and civil society stakeholders in contributing towards the achievement of the MDG goals.
The MDGs were created by a United Nations taskforce with the purpose of galvanizing the world towards achieving eight significant goals by the year 2015. These goals are centered around poverty, HIV/AIDS, child mortality, empowering women, education, climate change, and developing a global partnership for development. Unique recognition awards were presented in the following categories: Government, Lifetime Achievement, Recognition for Outstanding Youth Leadership, and Stand Up Mobilization. This year, the United Nations used the unique awards design "Eternal Spirit" for these prestigious awards.
This years recognition awards ceremony was held September 19, 2010, at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, one day prior to the MDG Summit at UN Headquarters. More about the Millennium Development Goals can be found by clicking the following link: "United Nations MDG Awards".
