Bennett Creates 10’ Sculpture for Sacramento Sheriff Memorial

A 10’ Bennett Award custom monumental sculpture, titled “Star VI”, was unveiled on July 13, 2006, as part of a memorial plaza created to honor the crew of a Sacramento Country Sheriff helicopter that crashed on the shores of Lake Natoma exactly one year earlier. The custom monumental sculpture was designed by Bennett Awards artist Tom Bennett. The memorial honors the lives of two deputies – Deputies Joseph Kiervernagel and Kevin Blount – who were killed in the accident, and a third – Deputy Eric Henrickson – who survived with major injuries. More than 400 people attended the unveiling ceremony.
