Coca-Cola, P&G, & Kmart Among Winners of Custom Bennett Awards
For the third straight year, Bennett Awards produced an integrated set of custom corporate awards for the “Hub Prize”, sponsored by The Hub Magazine. The Hub Prize is an annual competition that recognizes companies for delivering an excellent brand experience; one that is different, and more meaningful, than marketing in the traditional sense. Marketers, retailers and agencies are judged on whether the brand experience they have created served a purpose, solved a problem, and made everyday life better for people.
The Hub Prize deliberately takes focus off brand and retailer objectives and places it squarely where it must be: the customer. The 2013 recipients of these achievement awards included a blue-chip list of brands, agencies, and design firms, including Coca-Cola, Proctor & Gamble, MARS, Intel, Kmart, Taco Bell, Target, Whole Foods and many other deserving honorees.
Each year, 36 marketers and their agencies are honored with these recognition awards, which are created by Bennett Awards in the form of custom medallions. 12 companies receive gold medallions, 12 receive silver medallions, and 12 receive bronze medallions. In addition, one marketer and its agency is honored as the overall “best of show” winner of the “Ultimate Hub Prize”, and receives the coveted “Hub Cup”, which is a custom trophy cup handcrafted by Bennett Awards. The 2013 recipient of the Hub Cup trophy was Kmart, along with its agency Draftfcb Chicago, for their marketing initiative “Ship My Pants”.
In 2011, the inaugural year of this award competition, Bennett Awards worked in conjunction with The Hub Magazine to create an integrated family of unique custom awards. The centerpiece of this award program is the Hub Cup, a custom, handmade trophy cup designed specifically for this award. The Hub Cup stands 16” tall, is cast in solid bronze, and features an antique patina finish. Custom medallions like those created for the medal winners (see below) are embedded in the front and back of the trophy cup – the front of one medallion facing from the front, and the back of another medallion facing from the back. In addition, the name of the Hub Cup winner is engraved inside the cup, just beneath the rim.
For each medal winner, Bennett Awards created 3” medallions with custom images that match the brand image of The Hub Magazine. Each medallion features recessed etching of the award name: “The Hub Prize”. These custom medallions are produced in pewter, and feature bronze, silver and gold plating in accordance with the respective award categories.
In addition to the Ultimate Hub Prize winner Kmart/Draftfcb Chicago, 2013 medal winners included (listed by marketer(s)/agency):
