$0.00

Bennett Awards developed a unique custom award for the Monopoly World Championships. Bennett Awards created the custom awards design based on the Monopoly Tycoon character that is featured on Monopoly properties. The custom awards design stands 2 feet tall, and is produced in pewter. The custom award is mounted on a black marble base engraved with "Monopoly World Champion" and the name of the winner. The custom award was first used for the 2009 Monopoly World Championships, held October 20-22 at Caesars Palace hotel-casino in Las Vegas.

The unique award was first presented to the 2009 competition winner, Bjorn Halvard, a 19 year old Norwegian student. Halvard beat competitors from 41 different countries to capture the championship. In addition to the Bennett-designed custom award, Halvard received $20,580, the total amount of money in the bank at the start of a standard Monopoly game. The Monopoly World Championship, sponsored by the game’s creator, Hasbro, has been held periodically since 1973 in various cities around the world. The last champion was crowned in 2004 in Tokyo.
