El Paso 'Red T. Hawk' Awards
Bennett Awards worked with the City of El Paso to create a new ,unique custom award design, and produced a set of custom sculpture awards based on this design.
The award design was based on ‘Red T. Hawk’, the El Paso International Airport’s mascot. In 2019, El Paso introduced Red T. Hawk as the airport’s mascot and an ambassador to the city. ed T. Hawk is a soaring symbol and role model for kids of all ages. The mascot is an anthropomorphism of a Red Tailed Hawk, a species native to the El Paso region. The character is styled as a female jet fighter pilot, and represents the virtues of strength, courage and honesty. One of her key focuses is to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education for children, especially girls, to encourage an interest in the science fields critical to aviation.
Bennett Awards created a custom sculpture design based on this mascot. The Red T. figure stood approximately 8.5” tall, and was mounted on a 4.5” x 1.75” circular base, bringing the total height to just over 10”. The sculptures were case in bronze, and featured a golden antique patina. Each sculpture award was mounted to a circular base, and each base was adorned with an engraved plate with personalized recipient information.
