Edward R. Murrow Lifetime Achievement Award
Washington State University (WSU) commissioned Bennett Awards to create a new custom awards design for their Edward R. Murrow Award for Lifetime Achievement in Broadcast Journalism. The Edward R. Murrow Awards are presented by WSU each year, and honor exceptional lifetime achievement by leaders in the communications industry. Bennett Awards worked collaboratively with WSU's Edward R. Murrow College of Communication to create a new custom trophy design for this prestigious achievement award. The custom awards design features a sculpture award in the shape of vintage broadcast microphone. The sculpture award is cast in bronze, and mounted on a black marble base with customized, gold-fill engraving of the award name, year of presentation, recipient name, award purpose, and presenting organization.
Recipients of this distinguished recognition award include Ted Koppel, the 43-year veteran of ABC News and former anchor of ABC's Nightline series, and Dan Rather, who anchored CBS Evening News for 24 years, the longest such tenure in broadcast history.
