ASME 150th Anniversary Award

$0.00

Bennett Awards worked with ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) to create a new custom award design that celebrated the 150th anniversary of The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company. The “Hartford Standards”were adopted by U.S. boiler manufacturers in 1889 and became an industry standard, and this recognition award honored that milestone.

For this new, unique custom award design, Bennett Awards created an award based on a mahogany vertical wood block. A recessed channel was carved into both the top and bottom of this block, and brushed pewter railroad tracks were cast and placed inside this channel. In the center of the block, between the tracks, the wood was directly engraved with the Hartford logo and a synopsis of its historical significance. Direct wood engravings were also placed above and below the tracks.

ASME is a not-for-profit membership organization that enables collaboration, knowledge sharing, career enrichment, and skills development across all engineering disciplines, toward a goal of helping the global engineering community develop solutions to benefit lives and livelihoods. Founded in 1880 by a small group of leading industrialists, ASME has grown through the decades to include more than 130,000 members in 151 countries. Thirty-two thousand of these members are students.
