The Top 5 Latest Trends in Custom Trophies

Custom Trophies: The Latest Trends

As truly unique works of art, the types of custom trophies you can create are almost endless. From illuminated acrylic pillars to realistic bust sculptures, we pride ourselves on innovative, “out of the box” designs that make an immediate impact and leave a lasting impression. We also constrain our parameters to adhere to the specific design, branding and messaging requirements of our clients.

Here’s a sampling of the latest creative custom trophies we’ve created over the past year.

1: Colorful Fun Trophies

We work annually with Greenfoot Energy Solutions to design and produce awards based on their “Yeti” mascot. An Atlantic Canada based company, they provide energy efficiency assessments and solutions for homeowners.

  1. The color green was an important motif in their award.

  2. These custom sculptures were hand-sculpted by our resident artist.

  3. To achieve the signature bright green, we casted in resin, and then painted green.

  4. The sculptures stood approximately 7” tall, and were mounted on circular black hardwood bases with personalized engraving.

2: Large Illuminated Trophies

Twitch Interactive commissioned Bennett Awards to create new custom awards for its Streamer Bowl. The Streamer Bowl is a multi-stage competition featuring 30 Fortnite Trios comprised of 30 NFL Pros, 30 Twitch streamers, and 30 Community Champions battling for over $1,000,000 for charity.

  1. The large trophies Bennett Awards created for the Streamer Bowl were in the form of cast acrylic pillars in a signature color.

  2. The pillars were multi-layeed, and created in the shape of the Twitch logo.

  3. The acrylic was a translucent purple, Twitch’s brand color. The top of the acrylic pillar was capped in machined aluminum.

  4. Event information was digitally printed on the pillars.

  5. These pillars stood approximately 17” tall.

  6. The custom pillars stood on lighted bases that illuminated the pillars.

3: Lifelike Bust Sculptures

Bennett Awards worked with Bell Labs to create a custom sculpture of the bust of Martin Cooper, the “father of the cell phone”. As an engineer at Motorola, Cooper invented the first handheld cellular mobile phone (distinct from the car phone) in 1973, and led the team that developed it and brought it to market in 1983. On April 3, 1973, he become the first person to use a handheld portable phone to make a cellular call.

  1. In honor of Cooper, Bell Labs commissioned Bennett Awards to create a custom sculpture of Cooper’s bust.

  2. Bennett Awards hand sculpted the model of the bust.

  3. The model was then cast in bronze, and featured an umber patina finish.

  4. The sculpture was roughly life-size, and was mounted on a marble base.

4: Modern Artistic Trophies

For a number or years, Bennett Awards has created corporate recognition awards for the Ford Motor Credit Company, one of the largest automotive finance companies in the world. The Ford Partners in Quality Awards, established in 1993 by Ford Credit President Edsel B. Ford II, recognize dealers across the U.S. and Canada for outstanding achievement in customer satisfaction and support for Ford Credit. Approximately 100 out of 4,500 dealers are chosen each year for this prestigious corporate recognition award.

  1. The awards Bennett Awards has produced for Ford’s Partners in Quality Awards have spanned a number of different sculpture designs and styles.

  2. The initial awards used by Ford were based on traditional bronze sculpture designs.

  3. Over the years, Ford has migrated to modern, contemporary designs based on a variety of materials. Most of these have employed a mix of colors and finishes, and Ford’s blue color has been in consistent component of many of these designs.

  4. The sculpture design shown here was fabricated from aluminum, and feature both polished aluminum and blue anodized finishes on its surfaces.

5: Unique Form Factors

A trophy can truly be anything meaningful to your brand. Bennett Awards worked with Levi Strauss, an American clothing company known worldwide for its Levi's brand of denim jeans, to create unique, custom employee recognition awards.

  1. The form factor for these recognition awards is a pin shaped like a rivet you would find on a pair of Levi’s denim jeans.

  2. The custom pins are created from die cast zinc, and have recessed engraving with a black-fill of the Levi Strauss name and presentation year.

  3. The pins are plated in gold, copper or brass, depending on the specific award (three different awards were represented).

  4. Bennett Awards also created custom display boxes for each pin.

  5. The lower portion of the box was created from white oak, and had black engraving on the front signifying the award name and year.

  6. Padding was added to each box to hold, protect and display the pins.

  7. The lids of each box were fabricated from aluminum, and also featured gold, copper or brass plating, depending on the award.

  8. Recessed black-fill engraving on each lid indicated the company name and award year.
