Copa America 2015 Presents Bennett Custom Awards
Unique Bennett custom awards were created for the Copa America 2015 soccer tournament, one of the most prestigious and widely viewed sporting events in the world. These awards were commissioned for the MasterCard Man of the Match awards that are given to each game’s most outstanding player. For these recognition awards, Bennett Awards created a new custom award design based on the Copa America 2015 logo. These awards are in the shape of a circular shield, and handcrafted from Brazilian Mahogany.
Ballet Hispanico Selects Bennett Custom Awards
Bennett Awards created new custom awards for Ballet Hispanico, recognized as the nation’s premier Latino dance organization. These recognition awards were created to honor three individuals who have given voice to their Latino culture and the importance of Ballet Hispanico’s work through the corporations they serve. The centerpiece of these custom awards was a sculpture based on an impressionistic ballet dancer. The sculpture stood approximately 16” high, and was cast in gold-plated pewter.
Carolina Hurricanes Honor Broadcaster with Bennett Custom Award
The NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes chose a custom award from Bennett Awards to honor their television broadcaster John Forslund in recognition of his 20th year as the television voice of the franchise. Forslund received this recognition award during a special pregame ceremony held March 21, 2015, at PNC Arena. For this award, Bennett Awards created a custom gold-plated pewter sculpture in the shape of a microphone, with a sculpted logo block surrounding the handle.
Howard Stern Receives Custom Bennett Recognition Award
Howard Stern, one of the most recognized and popular radio and television personalities in the world, recently received a custom recognition award created by Bennett Awards. Stern received the “King of All Follicles” award from Groominglounge.com for having the “Best Men’s Hair in America.” For this award, Stern received a version of Bennett Award’s “The Benny” recognition award that was customized to hold a comb in its arms. Stern received the award during his live “Howard Stern Show” broadcast.
Bennett Custom Awards Presented at “The Friskies”
For the third straight year, Purina’s Friskies® Cat Food used custom awards created by Bennett Awards to recognize winners in their annual Internet cat video contest called “The Friskies.” The Friskies are awarded to the best Internet cat videos of the year. For these awards, Bennett Awards designed unique custom sculptures in the shape of the iconic “Friskies” brand icon. These pewter recognition trophies, called “The Catuettes,” also feature an integrated pedestal with a raised relief of the Friskies logo.
World Junior Golf Series Commissions Custom Bennett Award
The World Junior Golf Series (WJGS), an international golf tour designed to showcase the best junior golfers in the world, commissioned a custom perpetual trophy from Bennett Awards for their World Ranking Trophy. This custom trophy will feature the names of the world’s top ranked junior golfers at the time of each of the WJGS tournaments. For this trophy, Bennett Awards created a custom sculpture in the shape of the WJGS logo. This pewter sculpture was mounted on a fabricated aluminum base that will hold the names of the world’s top-ranked junior golfers.
Bells Labs Commissions Custom Bennett Award
Bell Labs, the world-renowned industrial arm of Alcatel-Lucent, and the world’s pre-eminent research organization in the field of communication networking, commissioned Bennett Awards to create a new custom award design for its inaugural Bell Labs Prize. The centerpiece of the award is a handcrafted sculpture featuring two figures – one male and one female – holding a globe. The sculpture also incorporates sculpted elements meaningful to Bell Labs and the Bell Labs Prize, including representations of the first transistor, fiber optics, the UNIX operating system, the Horn antennae, the Shannon algorithm, and Telstar.
Garner, Fey, Bening, Lange Among Custom Bennett Awards Recipients
For the eighth consecutive year, a group of Hollywood stars who have made a profound impact on the film industry received custom recognition awards designed by Bennett Awards as recipients of the 2014 Elle Women in Hollywood Awards. The Elle Women in Hollywood Awards recognize women for their outstanding achievements in film, spanning all aspects of the motion picture industry, including acting, directing, and producing. The 2014 recipients of these distinguished achievement awards included Jennifer Garner, Tina Fey, Jessica Lange, Elizabeth Banks, Annette Bening, Zoe Saldana, Brie Larson, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
World’s Top Jr. Golf Event Presents Custom Trophy from Bennett Awards
For the third straight year, the world’s top-ranked junior golf tournament presented a family of custom recognition awards created by Bennett Awards for its championship trophies. The Junior Invitational at Sage Valley, ranked by Golfweek as the top junior golf tournament in the world, used three unique custom recognition awards created by Bennett Awards for their 2014 event: 1) a 36” perpetual trophy called the Gibbs Trophy that features an engraved plaque identifying that year’s champion; 2) a smaller 18” version of the trophy that is presented to the champion to keep; and 3) custom medallions that are given to the tournament runners up.
Bennett Creates Custom Award Based on First Working Steam Engine
Bennett Awards created a new, unique custom award based on a sculpture of an aeolipile, which was the first working steam engine, the invention of which is generally thought to be around the 1st century AD. This custom award was commissioned by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspections for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the ASME Boiler and Vessel Pressure Code. The main sculpture component of the award was fabricated out aluminum, and then high-polished and silver-plated.
