The TIFF logo, award name, and recipient name were all engraved directly into the surface of the award. This is the second consecutive year this unique award design has been the basis for these awards.
The 2020 award recipients were honored at a virtual event held September 15, 2020. The awards presentation was broadcast on CTV and streamed internationally by Variety. Award presenters included Ava DuVernay, Tabu, Regina King, Jodie Foster, Olivia Colman, Colin Farrell and Delroy Lindo. The event also featured a performance by Shawn Mendes.
