Bennett Awards Creates Custom Awards for PETA

Bennett Awards created a set of unique custom awards for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). PETA is the largest animal rights organization in the world, with more than 6.5 million members and supporters. 

These custom awards were designed and produced for PETA’s Elly Awards, which celebrate the TV stars and shows that have promoted kindness to animals. The Elly Awards recognize compassionate actors and TV series for their inclusion of animal-friendly storylines and for entertaining viewers without exploiting wild animals.  

For these recognition awards, Bennett Awards created a new custom award design that featured a realistic sculpture of an elephant holding a flower in its trunk. The elephant sculpture was cast in resin, painted gold, and mounted on black circular marble bases. Gold-fill engraving was used to match the gold color of the sculpture awards. The award recipient name, category name, and PETA logo were engraved on the base’s front, and the phrase explaining the meaning of the award on the back. 

Award recipients were recognized in a number of unique award categories. The winners were: 

• Best Lead in a Comedy Series: Lily Tomlin, Grace and Frankie

• Best Lead in a Drama Series: Chrissy Metz, This Is Us

• Best Lead in a Drama Series: Gaten Matarazzo, Stranger Things

• Best Lead in a Limited Series: Bill Pullman, The Sinner

• Best Comedy Special: Ricky Gervais, Humanity

• Best Accidently Vegan Message: The Handmaid’s Tale

• Best CGI: A Series of Unfortunate Events

• Best CGI: The Walking Dead

• Best ‘Captivity Sucks’ Moment: The Orville

• Best Teachable Moment: Mindhunter

• Best Variety Sketch: Saturday Night Live, “Diner Lobster”

• Best Animal-Friendly Ensemble: Riverdale

• Who We Can’t Get Enough of Award: Zazie Beetz

• Best Reality Show: The Voice

• PETA Pick: Edie Falco
