National Lacrosse League Commissions Custom Bennett Award

The National Lacrosse League (NLL), North America’s premier professional indoor lacrosse league, commissioned Bennett Awards to create a unique custom award for its new championship trophy. The custom award, called the National Lacrosse League Cup, is a perpetual award that will honor each year’s champions. The award design is based on the NLL’s new logo, which features a four-point star. The star acknowledges the four original teams from the Mid-Atlantic region, while paying homage to the roots of the sport with its similarity to the Native American Morning Star.

This unique custom sculpture award was produced in nickel-plated bronze. The upper part of the award is based on a four-point star. The mid-section of the award serves as an integrated base and features a sculpted NLL logo. These two elements form the main sculpture portion of the award, which is then mounted on a hexagon-shaped hardwood base which holds plates of each year’s champion. The award stands approximately 32” high.

This new award was unveiled on April 30, 2018, and will be presented at the 2018 finals, set to begin the second half of May 2018.
