Custom Bennett Awards Presented at AKC National Championship

The AKC (American Kennel Club) presented a custom Bennett recognition award at their 2017 National Championship, presented by Royal Canin. A total of 4,803 dogs competed in the National Championship, held December 16-17, 2017, in Orlando, Florida. Combined with the other related events held over the same weekend, this was the largest dog show in North America.

In 2016 Bennett Awards worked with the Royal Canin, the event sponsor, to create a new, unique sculpture cup. The cup is a perpetual award that holds a custom medallion for each year’s Best in Show winner. This unique, hand-sculpted cup stands approximately 32” tall. Some additional features of the cup sculpture include ribbon-shaped handles, a rosette, a centerpiece plaque with the AKC National Championship logo, and the Royal Canon logo. The sculpture was cast in bronze, and then topped off with a brilliant high-polish finish. The cup sculpture is mounted on a two-tier black hardwood base that holds the individual medallions identifying each year’s Best in Show winner.

The 2017 Best in Show champion was CHG CH Le Petit Prince De La Bete, a French Bulldog known as “Princeton,” owned by Alexandra Geremia & Blake Hamman & Peter Photos and bred by Peter Photos & Blake Hamman.
