Bennett Creates Custom Awards for Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Championship
For the third consecutive year, Bennett Awards created custom trophies for the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) National Championship tournament. The MCLA is the preeminent non-varsity collegiate lacrosse organization in the country. The MCLA currently operates with 200+ teams in two divisions (Division I & 2), across ten conferences.
Custom Bennett recognition trophies were presented to the MCLA National Champions in their two different divisions: one trophy for Division I, and another for Division II. The 2016 Division I championship award was presented to Chapman University, while Grand Valley State received the Division II award. The tournament and national championship trophy presentation were held May 13, 2016 at Chapman Stadium in Orange, California.
In 2014, the Bennett Awards worked with the MCLA to create a new, unique custom award design for their National Championship trophy. The trophy design was inspired by the MCLA logo: an impressionistic representation of the curved end of a lacrosse stick. These unique awards are produced out of both anodized steel and acrylic. The outer edges of the awards are made from the anodized steel, and clear acrylic is the material used for the inside of the awards. Logos from the teams participating in the National Championship tournament are silk-screened on the surface of the acrylic.
