Justin Bieber, Others Receive Custom Bennett Awards from Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon presented a group of deserving recipients – including pop icon Justin Bieber – with custom awards created by Bennett Awards for their 2015 Nickelodeon Halo Awards. Now in its seventh year, the Nickelodeon HALO Awards are annual recognition awards that honor real-life kids that are doing extraordinary things in their communities and "Helping and Leading Others" (HALO). In addition to the custom awards created by Bennett Awards, each HALO award honoree receives a grant for their organization, scholarship funds, and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and connect with celebrities that share their same passion for service.

The four 2015 honorees are: 16-year-old Ethan Cruikshank from Mechanicsville, Virginia; 15-year-old Riley Gantt from Sherman Oaks, California; 14-year-old Joshua Williams from Miami Beach, Florida; and 18-year-old Ruchita Zaparde from Plainsboro, New Jersey.

In addition to the teen honorees, Justin Bieber received the first HALO Hall of Fame award, which is an award given to a celebrity that helps and leads others by making the world a better place. Bieber was recognized for his outstanding charitable work with Make-A-Wish and Pencils of Promise.

For these recognition awards, Bennett Awards worked with Nickelodeon to create a new custom award design. The teen honorees received awards in the form of custom fabricated aluminum batons. The batons were approximately 12” long by 1.5” in diameter, and anodized in orange (the Nickelodeon brand color). Each end of the baton had acrylic rings to accentuate the design. The Nickelodeon HALO AWARDS logo was engraved on the front of each baton, and the words “HELPING AND LEADING OTHERS” on the back. Finally, fabricated aluminum stands were created to hold each baton.

Justin Bieber’s HALO Hall of Fame Award was in the same material and form factor as the teen awards, but was plated in gold.

The 2015 HALO Awards event was held Nov 29, 2015 at NYC’s Pier 36. The presentation was simulcast on Nickelodeon, Teen Nick, Nicktoons, TV Land, CMT, Nick.com and the Nick app. Nick Cannon hosted the event, which featured live performances by Fifth Harmony, DNCE, Flo Rida, Tori Kelly, and WALK THE MOON.
