Carolina Hurricanes Honor Broadcaster with Bennett Custom Award
The NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes chose a custom award from Bennett Awards to honor their television broadcaster John Forslund. Forslund received this award in recognition of his 20th year as the television voice of the franchise.
Forslund is currently in his 20th year as the television broadcaster for the Hurricanes, and his 31st year broadcasting professional hockey. Forslund calls games on both FOX Sports Carolinas as well as nationally broadcasted games on the NBC Sports Network.
Forslund received this recognition award during a special pregame ceremony held March 21, 2015, at PNC Arena, before the Hurricanes game with the New York Rangers.
For this achievement award, Bennett Awards created a custom award design based on a microphone. The microphone had a block on its handle with an sculpted, embossed image of the Hurricanes logo. The sculpture award was cast in pewter, and then gold plated. It was mounted on a black marble base with gold-fill engraving.
