Custom Awards Design Presented to Governor Schwarzenegger
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was the recent recipient of a unique custom awards design created by Bennett Awards. This custom award was presented to Governor Schwarzenegger at a recent climate change forum. The custom awards design was commissioned by CAPCOA (California Air Pollution Control Officers Association), an association representing all 35 local air quality agencies throughout California. CAPCOA commissioned this unique awards design for the Climate Legacy Award, a recognition award given in honor of lasting leadership and achievements for addressing climate change.
This unique awards design was produced using reclaimed pewter as the primary material. The recognition awards design was created in the shape of California. The front of the custom award featured a 3D relief of California topography created in pewter. Set in the center of this relief were three plaques created from recycled glass – the upper plaque was engraved with the name of the award, the middle plaque was engraved with Governor Schwarzenegger’s name and the purpose of the recognition award, and the lower plaque was engraved with the CAPCOA logo. The back of the custom awards design featured a vintage, recycled metal motorcycle sign, in homage of Governor Schwarzenegger’s passion for motorcycles. This unique award was presented to Governor Schwarzenegger at the CAPCOA Climate Change Forum, which was held August 30-31 at San Francisco’s Marriott Marquis Hotel. Founded in 1975, CAPCOA is dedicated to protecting the public health and providing clean air for California residents and visitors to breathe.
