Bennett Custom Award Presented to Harrison Ford

Bennett Awards recently completed the development of a new custom award that was presented to Harrison Ford, the iconic American film actor and producer. The custom awards design was commissioned by AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) for their perpetual “Let’s Go Flying” Award. The Let’s Go Flying Award honors the individual or organization that best demonstrates the passion and commitment needed to ensure the future of general aviation by ensuring that there are pilots to fly. Ford was recognized for his work to introduce young people to flying, including his participation in, and support of, programs like General Aviation Serves America and EAA’s Young Eagles.

Bennett Awards artist Tom Bennett created this unique custom awards design working in conjunction with AOPA. The custom awards design is an abstract design featuring two sets of “wings” that conotate flight. The unique custom awards produced from this design are cast in bronze, and stand 19” tall. The custom award for Harrison Ford was mounted on a black marble base, and featured an engraved metal plate with a customized engraving that included the AOPA logo, the name of the award, the recipient’s name (Harrison Ford), and a quote (“For inspiring America’s youth to follow their passion for flight”).
