NFL’s Carolina Panthers Commission Custom Bennett Award
Bennett Awards recently created a unique custom recognition trophy for the National Football League’s Carolina Panthers. The achievement trophy was produced for the Panthers’ annual 7-on-7 passing tournament held each summer. High school teams from across North and South Carolina are invited to participate in the competition, which is a free event sponsored by the Panthers and the NFL Youth Football Fund. The winning team earns the opportunity to compete in the NFL’s National 7-on-7 passing tournament.
Panthers players also attend the competition and provide instruction, tips, advice and encouragement. Additionally, the tournament features a life skills forum where the student athletes learn about the importance of attitude, image, motivation, perception, positive thinking and time management.
This year’s competition was held June 19, 2012, at the Bank of America Stadium practice fields. North Carolina’s Davidson Day School captured the championship with 28-24 victory over reigning champion Mallard Creek High School. In addition to receiving the championship achievement trophy created by Bennett Awards, Davidson Day will also represent the Panthers in the NFL’s 2012 National 7-on-7 High School Player Development Tournament, scheduled for July 12-15 in Indianapolis.
For the distinctive championship custom trophy, the Panthers had Bennett Awards create a custom award based on the "Gridiron Tower Tall " sports recognition award design. This trophy was customized with the Panthers’ team colors for this competition. The unique trophy also featured a custom engraved silver plate on its base with the Panthers’ logo, additional corporate sponsors’ logos, the purpose of the awards, and the date of presentation.
