Nike Selects Custom Trophy from Bennett Awards
For the fourth consecutive year, Nike selected a custom recognition award from Bennett Awards for their Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) championship trophy. This was the second straight year Nike used a new custom award design created by Bennett Awards prior to the 2012 league season.
The Nike FYBL is a youth basketball league comprised of the top 17 & Under AAU basketball teams from across the United States. A total of 40 teams compete in a series of tournaments throughout the spring and summer, and, based on their win/loss records, the top 24 teams are selected to play in the EYBL Finals, where the overall EYBL champion is crowned.
In 2013, regular season tournaments were held in Los Angeles, Hampton, Dallas and Minneapolis. The finals were held at the Nike Peach Jam Tournament, which was played July 10-14, 2013, in North Augusta, SC. The championship game was won by Each 1 Teach 1, based in Florida. For their victory, the Wings received a championship trophy custom-designed by Bennett Awards.
This recognition trophy was based on a new custom design created by Bennett Awards in 2012. This unique design features a pewter Nike basketball perched on the rim of a pewter basketball net. This pewter net, in turn, is attached to a pewter base, which is then mounted on a larger hardwood base. The base contains customized engravings of the Nike EYBL logo, and championship text.
