Mars Selects Bennett Corporate Awards for International Recognition Program

For the second consecutive year, Mars, Inc., one of the world’s largest manufacturers of confectionary, pet food, and other food products, selected a set of Bennett custom awards for a worldwide corporate recognition program they have established.

The program is called the Mars Marketing Heroes program, and it is designed to recognize Mars marketing associates for their outstanding accomplishments and contributions in marketing. This corporate recognition award program enables Mars associates in each global region to disseminate marketing best practices and share the secrets behind successful programs across the entire worldwide Mars marketing community.

Each year, Mars presents Marketing Heroes awards to associates for achievements in a broad range of award categories, including Best Campaign, Best Communication, Best Media Plan, Best Innovation/Renovation, etc. Awards are presented in each of Mar’s geographic regions, as well as at the global level.

In 2012, Mars commissioned Bennett Awards to create a custom trophy design for these awards. These trophies are based on an impressionistic figure holding an “M”, based on the Mars logotype, above its head. These custom trophies are produced in pewter, and come in two alternative finishes: 1) a gold-plated finish for Global awards; and b) a silver-plated finish for Regional awards.

These sculpture awards are mounted on black marble bases that feature customized engravings of the Mars company logo, the year of presentation, the award category, and the geographic distinction (Global or Regional). Global awards feature gold-fill engraving, and Regional awards feature silver-fill engraving, to match the finish of the sculptures. This is an excellent example of how alternative finishes and engraving fills can be used to distinguish between different versions or levels of awards. A closer view of these custom trophies can be seen at: "Mars Marketing Heroes Awards".

Mars, Inc. is an American global manufacturer of confectionery, pet food, and other food products with US$30 billion in annual sales in 2010, and is ranked as the 3rd largest privately held company in the United States by Forbes. More information on Mars can be found at www.mars.com .
