5 Favorite Custom Award Statues Throughout The Years

While our production scope runs the gamut from handcrafted wood awards to custom medallions and unique trophies, there is always a timeless, classic appeal to a custom award statue.

One of the most famous award statues, the Emmy statuette was conceived in 1948. The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences rejected forty-seven proposals before settling on Louis McManus's design in 1948. The statuette has since become the symbol of the TV Academy's goal of supporting and uplifting the art and science of television: The wings represent the muse of art; the atom the electron of science.

Inspired by this week’s premiere of the 2020 Emmy Awards, we’ve pulled together 5 of our favorite custom award statues designed by the Bennett Awards team.

  1. Nebuchadnezzar's dream image

Fowler Industrial Plating approached us about creating a likeness of Nebuchadnezzar's dream image to use as a visual aid for a client to use in a worldwide tour of old-testament teaching. Our account manager, Karen, worked with our in-house sculptor James to hand craft the intricate detail envisioned by our client. The level of detail in the final pewter statue award is astounding.

2. City of El Paso Red "T" Hawk Female Leadership Awards

Red T. Hawk is the El Paso International Airport mascot. The city of El Paso worked with our Account Manager Perry and the Bennett Awards design team to hand sculpt and cast five bronze patina awards for female leaders in Red. T. Hawk’s likeness. Originally inspired by a photograph of a person in the mascot suit, the end result was a unique, substantial and handcrafted work of art.

3. Cinemoi Fashion Icon

This pewter statuette is a favorite award around the Bennett Awards office. Led by Mollee, our design team created this flirty design that incorporate film in the statue’s flouncy skirt for the CineFashion Film Awards, a Cinémoi production that recognizes the best in Fashion, Film and International Lifestyle

4. American Advertising Awards (Addy's)

Inspired by an iconic hood ornament from a 1920’s era car, our account manager Perry, worked with our graphic designer to tweak the angle and head position of the original design to balance on a wood base and capture the mission of the American Advertising Awards competition. This award succeeded in recognizing and rewarding the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.

5. Adexchanger Award Statue

The Adexchanger team worked with account manager, Karen, on creating these 11.5” tall gold-plated tin alloy sculptures with custom zinc pyramid bases for the Adexchanger awards. We thought their company’s mascot was the perfect choice to help recipients celebrate the future of advertising and marketing. Beyond the overall high polish finish on these statuttes, there was also a bit of antiquing added to the insides of the legs along to add dimension to the 3d sculpt. These awards were completed with black plates with gold text with the recipient details.
